Michael joined Wrightway in June 2016 as Managing Director and has 20 years’ experience in the sector. Previous to that he worked with Zurich GI in Ireland for 4 years as head of Sales & Agri business. Michael was behind the development and launch of Zurich’s Agricultural proposition, building that business to the fastest growing in the Irish market today. He was also responsible for broker sales in the business with a specific focus on commercial new business and the special risk portfolios where he increased both sales and financial performance over a two year period. Prior to joining Zurich, Michael worked with FBD insurance for 15 years.
Head of Finance & Operations
Mary joined Wrightway in 2007 having previously worked as the Financial Controller for Wright Group for 6 years and also has experience in the Manufacturing Industry & practise. Mary has a wide range of financial experience built up from the various industries. Mary is responsible for the overall finance function of the company together with compliance and human resources.
Head of Business Development & Claims
David joined Wrightway in 1999 having spent 13 years working in Insurance Corporation of Ireland plc/Church and General plc. As a Senior Claims Handler he acquired a wealth of experience covering a comprehensive range of insurance claims issues, handling and consulting on personal lines, commercial property and motor, personal injury and liability claims, providing an efficient and high quality service to our clients.
Head of Underwriting & I.T.
David has been with Wrightway from the start, having worked in Wright Group for the previous 5 years and Aon before that. He has gained vast experience in all aspects of the business. David has overall responsibility of the Wrightway IT systems and infrastructure. Also, through his relationships developed with the industries software houses, has been at the forefront of developing EDI for Private Car, LCV and HGV product lines.
David leads the design and build of new products for Wrightway and oversees the provision of Wrightway’s management information.
He holds Grandfather status with the Insurance Institute of Ireland.
Liz joined Wrightway in 2007 having previously worked for Wright Group for 19 years. She has gained a wealth of experience dealing with both a wide range of insurers and brokers through the years. Liz is responsible for the timely collection of premiums from the company’s network of brokers and, together with her team, works closely with the Underwriting team to ensure speedy resolutions to account queries. Liz is also responsible for the payment of premiums to the Company’s insurance providers.
Senior Underwriter Personal Lines
Having joined Wrightway in 1999 coming from Norwich Union has gained a wealth of experience with dealing with a wide range of insurers through the years. He has been involved in broker development, developing and delivery of CPD programmes as well as product training to brokers. Jason has developed and maintained valuable relationships with the network of brokers as well as industry contacts which assists him in keeping a close eye on market changes. Ensuring excellent service levels to the network of brokers is a foundation for Jason. As well holding his Grandfather status, in 2014 he achieved his CIP Professional Diploma in Insurance.
Linda joined Wrightway in 2010 having previously spent 11 years in the insurance industry. During her time with Wrightway Linda has gained significant experience underwriting business under delegated binding authority for a number of capital providers. Linda has responsibility for writing profitable commercial business in line with company and capital provider underwriting strategy. Linda also provides expert underwriting knowledge and coaching for queries escalated externally from brokers and clients and internally from other functions.
Involved with Wrightway from the beginning, and having spent 8 years in a brokerage, Linda has gained extensive experience in all areas and is now the company’s Technical Officer. Currently Linda’s main role involves reporting and statistical work for the company and its many providers. Linda also monitors EDI business from Wrightway's extensive nationwide broker network and carries out auditing on an external and internal basis. Holding Grandfathered status with the Insurance Institute of Ireland, Linda works closely with QA and Underwriting when developing new products, system enhancements, improving processes and creating CPD courses.
Ciara joined Wrightway in 2000 and has developed an in-depth technical knowledge of claims handling in the private motor, commercial motor, liability, house & personal injury sectors. Ciara is responsible for a portfolio of litigated personal injury claims and is also Department Head of the Motor Property Claims Department, managing the team and ensuring an efficient claims handling process.

Commercial Underwriting & Risk Management Executive
Darren joined the Wrightway claims team in 2011 having gained extensive claims experience including Fleet and HGV claims adjusting. Darren moved into the Commercial Underwriting department in 2012. He has responsibility for underwriting new business and renewals across: Single HGV, Fleet, Special Types, Marine Cargo and Liability. He has developed a risk management programme for delivery to fleet and haulage clients in the field, he is responsible for ad-hoc risk management projects and is currently studying for an M.Sc in Risk Management.
